For your consideration is this antique Art Needle designed for French / Parisian and Egyptian Embroidery work popular during the 1920s. The piece is marked “PAT PENDING” and the only patent found was an invention by James Thrailkill of Chicago, Illinois which patent was applied for in 1920 and awarded in 1921 (No. US1398207A). Though it doesn’t appear to be exactly the same, it is very similar. Was not able to match with any online comps or newspaper advertisements for that time. The needle is light weight metal of unknown makeup weighing 0.5 ouncs. It measures 5.4 inches in length, with the head measuring 0.6 inches wide and the needle measuring 2 millimeters in width. It looks to be made of aluminum. Great collectible for sewing notions collectors.Condition: Good overall condition with nice patina observed. Item has been steam cleaned and swiftly dried to reduce any potential rust that might develop. The inside metal has a pitted appearance.Shop with confidence when you shop with us.
