This new and improved power supply method will maintain a constant 10 volts available to the circuitry all the way down to about 2 volts remaining in the Capacitor. * A 12 position Modulation Frequency selector switch includes DELTA 1 & 2, THETA 1 & 2, ALPHA, BETA 1 & 2, GAMMA, HYPER GAMMA 1 & 2 , LAMBDA 1 & 2 * The Carrier “note” frequency is ADJUSTABLE from approximately 840 to 1000 Hz. ( see below for adjusting suggestion ) * A built in adjustable run time timer , ranging from approximately 5 minutes to 40 minutes. NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO OUTPUT UNTIL THE START BUTTON IN PRESSED. * A Blue LED indicates that the unit is running during the selected time period. The LED will glow brighter with higher Power settings and will flash according to the Modulation setting. The Blue LED indicates that the BT12 is providing signal output during the selected time. Here is a clever way to set the Carrier signal to a given frequency: plug a standard audio headphone in to the ear clip jack ( most head phones have a 3.5 mm plug ) . Set the Modulation to 0.5 Hz ( this will allow you to hear the Carrier for one second and then one second of silence, then repeated ). Turn the Amplitude to a comfortable level so as to be able to hear the Carrier frequency…it will be normal to only hear from one side of the headphone. Now , using your computer, go to any on-line signal generator site…such as https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/. Set the desired frequency and adjust your computer’s sound system to a comfortable level. Adjust the Carrier setting knob on the BT12 to cause the same frequency in your headset, as you are hearing from your computer….like tuning a guitar or piano with a tuning fork. To understand “carrier” and “modulation”, imagine an organ key being played. For example middle C is 440 Hz. As long as the key is held down, the note heard is the 440 Hz tone. This tone , in this example , is our “Carrier”. Now the organist, being very talented, will hold the key down for ONE second, then release the key for ONE second, then repeat the pattern by holding down the key for One second. The interval from the initial pressing of the key until it is pressed again is HALF a HERTZ, or 0.5 Hz…it occurs in 2 seconds. This is our “modulation”. Researching the published info on various CES devices reveals that there are many different carrier and modulation frequencies available. Only your research will determine where you choose to set it. The Power Knob is identical in circuit and function as the BT-5, which is detailed in The Bob Beck protocol Handbook at the top of page 73. The BT-12 is basically a BT-5 with added versatility.
