Carlton Ware England Autumn Colour Leaf Plate af c. mid 20th century This famous backstamp was called ‘The Script Mark’ and it was in use from 1926 to 1987. It was printed in Black or Blue. This Leaf Plate probably dates to the post war period of 1950-1970. There is a underglaze four figure number impressed in the base, Difficult to read but begins with 23–. It is a beautiful large Leaf Plate made in England. Measuring 26cm x 26.5 and standing on three small feet. Weighs: 443g. CONDITION – In beautiful used condition with two small faults. There is a tiny chip underneath the tip, barely visible and a crack at the hole area, please view photos. There is slight crazing to the back and no other damage.
