Offered for sale is a vintage Craftsman 95078 folding lockback hunting knife, made in USA by Schrade for Sears Roebuck & Company, probably circa 1970s. This knife is based on the Schrade LB7 folding hunting knife and was modeled after the Buck #110 Folding Hunter, which made the folding hunting knife popular both as a sporting knife and as a work knife. This knife features a stainless steel clip point blade, a blade locking device, integral brass bolsters and liners, a stainless steel rocker pin, and wood handle scales. Length closed is 5″ and length open is 8-3/4″. The blade is tang stamped “Craftsman, American Eagle Series, USA 95078.” The blade is also etched “A.C.A. Edge, Rust Resistant” lengthwise down the blade. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of normal use and carry. The blade appears to be at least 99% intact. There is no sheath with this knife but many quality sheaths can be found on Ebay. This knife will fit into any sheath designed for a Buck 110 or Schrade LB7. At the time this knife was made, Craftsman tools were regarded as some of the best, and came with a lifetime guarantee. Now that Sears has closed most of their stores and sold the Craftsman brand, and Schrade cutlery production has moved overseas, the American-made Craftsman-by-Schrade knives have become very collectible. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of American pocket knives.
