Description: Old Cabinet Photo Samuel E. Burr Hardware Store Bordentown NJ 309 Farnsworth Ave. Old, but undated original cabinet photo of Burr’s Hardware Store on 309 Farnsworth Ave in Bordentown NJ. While undated, this photo was likely taken sometime (seller’s estimate) within the following timeframe:1882-1900. Also included, are three single sided scrapbook pages with attached newspaper clippings. The clippings are permanently affixed to the punched paper pages and run the length of one article titled: Burr Had First Local Telephone. Note: The location of the first local telephone in Bordentown NJ was at Burr’s Hardware Store. The included article, which is from the October 31st, 1930 issue of The Bordentown Register, also provides some information about the location of the Burr Hardware Store and its storied history. The four people pictured in the photo are identified on the reverse of it. Photo notes Samuel E. Burr and Charles E. Burr, along with two others each identified as “clerk.” Please see uploaded photo. Seller notes some writing in pencil in the right side margin of the cabinet photo (Please see third upload image.). There is also some discoloration that appears to have taken place when the picture was originally developed. This can be observed by looking above the two individuals standing to the left and around the edges and corners of the photo (Please see uploaded images 7,8,&9). Right side of photo is is also lighter than a portion of the left side of the photo. Still, a rare closeup storefront image with links to the Burr family and Bordentown NJ.
