Hello and welcome to The House of chrome. You are looking at a unique general purpose microphone made by Electro Voice during the 1960’s that was sold to and used by The U.S Army. That was the M-43/U model that came with an all metal construction and olive drab paint scheme. This unique variant has a polished chrome finish and there is no markings on the mic but it’s a spitting image of the M-43/U. I’m not sure what model # this was? The M-43/U had the standard female XLR connection though this one has the female 2 pin type for the cable. It should be noted that this mic has been tested and has a non-working dynamic element so this really should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. It does come with the period E.V stand in which to display it. The lower joint mechanism works great with adjustable tension via the side screw. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand as well. The mic has the chrome plate with typical signs of wear but looks pretty good overall a few small scratches and spots of pitting. I’d rate the mic a true 6 + physically speaking on a scale of 1 – 10. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. The mic is being sold cheap due to the physical and non-working condition. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE… The stand is a period 1950’s / 60’s era Electro Voice 423A model with the satin chrome finish aluminum base and 6 inch riser. The 423A makes for a very stable platform and compliments the mic nicely as they have the same overall vibe and the stand is cosmetically the same as the mic. This stand has typical wear in the form of scuff marks, lite scratches and pitting on much of the surface. The 6 inch riser has just lite wear. The base has the 3 original rubber pads as well to keep the base from scratching any surface it may rest on. The mic with stand is appx 10 1/4 inches tall X 5 inches wide. Mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have if you don’t like the desk stand provided. As always… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
